Easter weddings at Priston Mill near Bath

Easter is one of our favourite times of the year for weddings and celebrations. We have seen both of our wedding venues, the Tythe Barn and Watermill, here at Priston Mill creatively decorated during this festive period.

With Easter coming early, this year we will no doubt see lots of daffodils included in arrangements; and that can never be a bad thing. They are always so cheerful and create a wonderful uplifting Spring-like feel to a wedding day. In France the daffodil is a sign of hope, and here, in the UK, it is often associated with rebirth and new beginnings. How fitting to have such sentiments on the day you get married!

Easter would not be Easter without a little chocolate!. Wedding favours have never been so easy to create. You could treat each guest to pastel mini eggs, sugared almonds or even a golden bunny!

We all have memories of the little yellow chick decorations. Your Granny may have put them on her Simnel cake? Perhaps you could incorporate them into your table display or around the venue?

Last year we saw wreaths back in vogue; just imagine the wreath you could create with an Easter theme in mind!

When we host weddings with a number of children attending we are often asked for advice on how to keep them busy during the meal. At this time of year, as well as having sticker and colouring books, you could have Easter bonnets or egg baskets for them to decorate. Craft possibilities are endless and will keep them happily occupied. Their efforts would be another lovely keepsake from the day.

An Easter egg hunt is a great idea for everybody in your wedding party. Some time and effort put in before the big day would mean little to do on the morning of. The Priston Mill team are always happy to help with ideas! Please feel free to contact us.

Another lovely thing about Easter is the long weekend and an excuse to see your family and friends for a truly relaxing feast. Traditionally lamb is the meat of choice for a Sunday roast, and who are we to argue? Our chefs here at Priston Mill make the most amazing lamb dish from our ‘To Entertain’ menu – imagine a rack of herb crusted Mendip lamb served on a bulgur wheat salad with peas, asparagus and mint with a red wine pancetta sauce.
