Can we bring our own caterer?
All catering at Priston Mill is provided in-house by PM Hospitality Ltd. The talented chefs provide a high standard of cuisine using top quality locally produced ingredients wherever possible. All food and drink is supplied on the premises by PM Hospitality with exception of a Wedding Cake .
Could we have a cheese wedding cake?
We can adapt the cheese platter evening menu option to include a cheese cake. Any additional cost above the standard £8.50 per person would depend on the cheeses chosen, decoration and the number of wedding guests.
How far is Priston Mill from Bath & Bristol?
Priston Mill is about 6 miles from Bath and 10 from Bristol making it the ideal Somerset venue. There is a location map on our ‘Find us’ page.
Do you cater for special diets at Priston Mill?
We have a wide range of vegetarian dishes for both the starter and main course. In addition, with prior knowledge we can cater for vegans, food allergies and special diets at your wedding.
When is payment required?
On booking we send a letter confirming the details of your wedding along with an invoice requesting a deposit payment of 55% of the venue hire and ceremony charge. The balance is due two months before your event. With the food and wines PM Hospitality ask for your final numbers three weeks before your wedding and then send a payment request. This is paid two weeks before your wedding day or party.
Can we leave our cars overnight?
You are welcome to leave your vehicles as long as they are collected by mid-morning on the following day. There is a list of taxis on our guest information page. If you require a taxi in the evening at the end of a wedding please remember to book one in good time.
Can we have an ice-cream tricycle or an evening hog roast?
Yes, however they are an in-house option only.
Is live music permitted at our wedding?
Discos & live bands, inside the venues, are no problem, however please note we can not allow smoke or haze machines. We recommend no more than a five piece in the Watermill and no more than a ten piece band in the Tythe Barn.
Do you provide a Master of Ceremonies?
We don’t have a stereotypical red-jacketed ‘Master of Ceremonies’; but all front-of-house here at Priston Mill will liaise and make announcements in an unobtrusive way to make your wedding day run smoothly. Alternatively, they can prompt someone of your choosing e.g. the best man, to make the announcements if you prefer.
Are there any hidden charges?
All tables, chairs, staffing, crockery, cutlery, glassware, white linen tablecloths and white linen napkins are included. We also have a number of cake stands that you can borrow. If you require coloured linen for the wedding reception we can arrange ordering this for you but at a small extra cost.
Do you allow confetti at weddings?
Fresh rose petals and bio-degradable confetti can be used inside the venues & outside on the lawns (in moderation and avoiding the flower beds). No confetti bombs please.
Are there any restrictions, for example with decorations?
There is no problem with flower arrangements, white candles, favours, confetti sprinkles or fresh petals. Unfortunately, we cannot allow the following inside the venues: helium-filled balloons, indoor sparklers, freeze-dried petals, silk petals, powdered glitter, coloured candles on the tables or confetti bombs. Outside, we do not allow bouncy castles or drones at Priston Mill.
Have you a children’s menu for the wedding breakfast?
Generally children have the same meal as the adults at a discounted rate (at 50% of the adult price). Alternative choices can be made available and these can be discussed at your wedding planning meeting.
Do you allow fireworks?
You are able to have ‘silent fireworks’ but only through one of our approved suppliers.
When do we have our planning meeting?
Generally planning meetings are held 2-3 months before your wedding or party, on Monday - Thursdays. The last appointment of the day starts at 3.30pm.
