Walk Tall

I speak for everyone who works here at Priston Mill when I say there are many factors that contribute to this venue being one of the most stunning places to work; one of which is the location. You have to be grateful when the only risk of morning traffic is a local farmer or his flock parading down the country lane.

When people choose to get married with us, the rambling brook and never ending fields are often a deciding factor. Your wedding may last a few hours but the celebrations needn’t draw to a close so soon. Especially when you have guests travelling from afar it is the perfect excuse to make a weekend of it. And what better way to blow away the cobwebs than a country walk (ending in a country pub!).

Priston - A Ridden Walk

The above is superb account of one mans nostalgic route through Priston village. A detailed hand-drawn map and clear instructions provide the ideal 4 mile walk from Timsbury and back. The author took 4 hours in total to complete the scenic loop. We would suggest a mid-way pit stop at Pristons local, The Ring of Bells to take some refreshment before heading back to the car.

Take a look at The National Trust website for some great ideas.

Should you fancy something close to the centre of Bath, little can compare to the Bath Skyline Walk. 6 miles of secluded woodland and meadows you will be treated to views of Bath only seen from such spots. Whilst you may not pass a pub, there are plenty of picnic places ideal for a group lunch and game of rounders.

Follow the link above to find some really helpful information and routes via Bath & North East Somerset Council website. There are maps online should you be unsure of how far afield to head. Often it works out best to all meet at the same point to start your ramble, and then pick the point for lunch. That way if any heads are too sore to walk they can at least meet you half way for a little hair of the dog!
