Our wedding venue in Bath is open in a whole new way!

2020 has certainly been a year to remember and has come with its own very unique set of challenges! We could have never foreseen what was to come at the beginning of the year - our diary was looking suitably busy and the team couldn't wait to get started and welcome our brides, grooms and their family's to our idyllic wedding venue in Bath. Never did we imagine that the majority of the weddings and events wouldn't even happen.

It was a hard pill to swallow, but we have to see the positives and one of those positives is that we have been lucky enough to welcome some of our couples to Priston Mill and despite all the odds, they have got married!   

The weddings we have held at our wedding venue, have been (and we say this from the very bottoms of our hearts) some of the most beautiful and meaningful that we have seen. With restrictions set at either 30, or 15 guests, these couples just REALLY, REALLY wanted to get married!

However, with ongoing restrictions and large gaps in the diary, this was when we really had to get our thinking caps on. Bars and restaurants were still open at this time, with the capability to run (relatively!) as normal.

We decided to take the opportunity to throw caution to the wind, and open up for a simply delightful English tradition, the Sunday Lunch! Our philosophy was simple, allowing our guests to relax and make it a lazy Sunday, feast on a delicious three-course lunch and finish the day by exploring the idyllic Priston Mill estate and grounds of our wedding venue in Bath.

After countless discussions on the scrumptious menus, we finally released the news on our social media outlets, and WHAT A RESPONSE!

We were absolutely blown away by the reaction to the news and had the interest to be fully booked twice over just a couple of hours after announcing!

Well of course, we were delighted and began to organise everything from the autumnal table décor - thanks to Flowers by Blomme - to the fairy light canopy, created over several days by our very own Chris Keast!

There is no reason to look outside of the Somerset and the West Country when sourcing the perfect produce for Sunday lunch and in our kitchens here at Priston Mill near Bath, we aim to buy as local as possible. We know that locally sourced food, without the stress of food miles is going to be top drawer. Our Sunday menu has been expertly curated by Head Chef Martin Jackson to offer something for everyone.

How about our Bath blue, pear and walnut arancini to start, followed by Somerset pork loin, crackling and caramelised garden apples?

British wines have undergone a bit of a resurgence in recent years and we have been almost spoilt for choice. Some of our favourite UK grown tipples are available to those hoping for a Sunday of indulgence. Nyetimber’s Classic Cuvée has proved popular, as has the 6 O’Clock London Dry gin, distilled just 20 miles away.

The Sundays that we were able to open were absolutely wonderful, a chance for the whole team to reunite (socially distanced of course) and to let our creativity run wild!

It has been a fantastic opportunity to see faces both old and new, relive some memories and experience couples who’d married with us show their children where ‘Mum & Dad got married’!

Although we have had to postpone our second two dates, we are now feeling optimistic for dates in December and are really excited to announce two more dates. The chefs are currently finalising a new updated Christmas inspired menu and we are sure you won't be disappointed.
