A Macmillion thanks to you all!

Last Friday Priston Mill hosted our first Macmillan Coffee Morning, and we are thrilled to say it was a huge success. From 10am through to 2pm we had a steady stream of smiling faces through our doors, I imagine lured in by the smell of freshly baked cakes!

After weeks of planning, the team got together last week and cooked up a storm. From Kim’s Victoria Sponge to Jakes Buckwheat Bites, Paul’s Apple Cake and Olly’s Millionaire Slices, we had something for everyone. Martin, Chris and Gabe, our chefs on the day took time out of event prep to produce brilliant bakes all worthy of ‘Star Baker’.

Tea and Coffee were being served in the most beautiful vintage crockery from Lindsey at Bath Vintage Hire. Jodie at Wedding and Event Prop Hire kindly loaned us the use of her traditional cart, on which we displayed our generous raffle prizes.

Prizes that were donated by various local establishments, such as The Wheatsheaf Combe Hay and The Carpenters Arms. Ella from Flowers of Bath gave an Ivy Heart, the girls at Lace & Grace contributed a stunning vintage style head piece and a couple of our catering suppliers pitched in with fruits and beverage.

Peter Hopwood, who used to run Priston Mill as both a working farm and a wedding venue, kindly gave his time and expert knowledge for tours of The Watermill. Those who attending found the history behind the water wheel fascinating, and suggested such an experience provided the perfect amount of time between cakes!

Through the overwhelming generosity of everyone who came and contributed, we have raised £1100 for Macmillan Cancer Support. We cannot thank you enough for being a part of this wonderful experience, and I promise we have heard each and every one of you when you have asked us to do this every year!
