Can we bring our own caterer?
All catering at Priston Mill is provided in-house by our talented team of chefs. We pride ourselves on a high standard of cuisine using top quality locally produced ingredients wherever possible.
How far is Priston Mill from Bath & Bristol?
Priston Mill is about 6 miles from Bath and 10 from Bristol. There is a location map on ‘Find us’ web page.
Do you cater for special diets at Priston Mill?
We have a wide range of vegetarian dishes for both the starter and main course. In addition, with prior knowledge we can cater for vegans, food allergies and special diets.
When is payment required?
On booking we send a letter confirming the details of your event along with an invoice requesting payment, within 2 weeks, of 55% of our venue hire and ceremony charge as a deposit. The balance is due 3 weeks before your event. With the food and wines we ask for your final numbers 3 weeks before your wedding and then send you a payment request. This is paid 2 weeks before your wedding day or party.
Can we leave our cars overnight?
You are welcome to leave your vehicles as long as they are collected by mid-morning on the following day. There is a list of taxis on our guest information page. Remember to book them in good time.
Can we have chair covers, chocolate fountains or casinos?
Should you wish to have any of these at your party we organise this for you.
Is live music permitted?
Discos & live bands, inside the venues, are no problem. We advise no more than a five piece in the Watermill and no more than a ten piece band in the Tythe Barn.
How much does it cost for foodtasting?
Most couples are happy to choose their menu at the planning meetings with the advice from the events manager re presentation and content. However, should you wish to have food tasting this can be provided and generally costs between £75 and £90.
Do you provide a Master of Ceremonies?
We don’t have a stereotypical red-jacketed ‘Master of Ceremonies’; but all front-of-house here at Priston Mill will liaise and make announcements in an unobtrusive way to make your day run smoothly. Alternatively they can prompt someone of your choosing e.g. the Best Man, to make the announcements if you prefer.
Are there any hidden charges?
All tables, chairs, staffing, crockery, cutlery, glassware, white linen tablecloths and white linen napkins are included. We also have a number of cake stands that you can borrow. If you require coloured linen we can arrange ordering this for you but at a small extra cost.
Do you allow confetti?
Fresh rose petals and bio-degradable confetti can be used inside the venues & outside on the lawns, (avoiding the paths and flower beds).
Are there any restrictions on the decorating the venues?
There is no problem with flower arrangements, floating candles, white candles, favours, confetti sprinkles or fresh petals. Unfortunately we cannot allow Helium filled balloons in the venues, or indoor sparklers, freeze-dried petals, silk petals, coloured candles or confetti bombs on the tables.
Have you a children’s menu?
Generally children have the meal as the adults at a discounted rate (at 60% of the adult price). Alternative choices can be made available and these can be discussed at your wedding planning meeting.
Do you allow fireworks?
We only allow ‘silent fireworks’ through one of our approved suppliers.
When do we have our planning meeting?
Generally planning meetings are held 2-3 months before your wedding or party, on Monday- Thursdays between 9.00am & 5.00pm.
